What is ECGAr (Late Potential Electrocardiogram)?
ECGAr is a specialized test whose main purpose is to detect late potentials in the heart, which indicate affected areas that can generate more serious cardiac arrhythmias. These areas are often found in patients who have had a heart attack, experienced myocarditis, have Chagas disease or have undergone heart surgery.
With ECGAr, it is possible to predict a high likelihood that a patient will develop high-risk ventricular arrhythmias, helping early diagnosis and the adoption of preventive measures. Patients with identified late potentials should take preventive care to avoid malignant arrhythmias and serious complications.
How is ECGAr performed?
ECGAr is a simple, quick test that requires no special preparation. The patient only needs a few adhesive electrodes placed on the skin and should remain lying down at rest for a few minutes while the equipment acquires the necessary cardiac signals. These signals are then transferred to a computer, where they are processed by specific software. After processing, a specialist physician analyzes the results and issues a detailed report.
